You should have been a tuba player, Norman. John Fletcher said that the tuba gets to play ‘the prophet of doom’ in orchestral works (L.S.O. and Philip Jones Brass Ensemble).
Also, may I pay my respects to BRUCE BODDEN, Principal Flute with the Spokane Symphony who passed away in March 2022.
Bruce provided informative, entertaining, witty and thought provoking contributions to this site and he left a notable impression with me.
I didn’t know him in person but I appreciated him very much. R.I.P. Bruce.
