This BMJ Best Practice monograph is very comprehensive and covers the aetiology, pathology, diagnosis and treatment and risk stratification of patients presenting with symptoms of cov-19. (It also includes asymptomatic cases).

Risk stratification is key to patient pathway management, asymptomatic cases need more testing in the community.
I’m sorry to bring this up again but there is no mention of hydroxychloroquine as a treatment despite studies proving its effectiveness ESPECIALLY during early stages of covid19.
What is the reason for having all these people suffer or die without this possible treatment?

If you read the BMJ monograph above it clearly explains the treatment regimes for stratified patients having cov-19 with varying severity.
Anti-malarials such as hydroxychloquine are not recommended in the UK NHS, and I see the US FDA also do not recommend it. I have not seen any evidence for it at all.

Why you take orthodox views from NHA and FDA as the gospel is beyond for me to know. That you don’t have the curiosity to research other views is also not for me to guess why. I’m just an orchestral musician who finds there is a large body of evidence in favor of hydroxychloroquine. I find it extremely troubling that it is being suppressed. Rest assured, I’m not writing this for you but for others who may question the status quo.

You are not a clinician, it is not a licenced phramaceutical in UK for cov-19 and FDA in US have also not approved it.

Yes I’m not a clinician but there are PLENTY of doctors and epidemiologists who would heartily disagree with you.
Hydroxychloroquine has been around for around 60-70 years. It is safe, even prescribed for pregnant women. How do I know besides not looking up on the tainted internet? My sister has taken it for decades to help control her lupus and even when she was pregnant.

I’m honestly not trying to be a jerk but when people’s lives are at stake a possible solution shouldn’t be casually be tossed of because “authorities” don’t approve it. Are we to believe people in government are above it all and make decisions only for the good of people?
They’re only people and governed by the same passions and vices as everyone else. Being in government doesn’t mean there is no corruption involved. With the billions involved with big pharma, couldn’t there possibly be a smidgen of say, bribery involved with some especially with how cheap hydroxychloroquine is?
It is not licenced in the UK for treating patients with cov-19 nor is there clear evidence which is why Dexamethasone is the primary drug used, in severe cases.

To put that figure in context, that’s about one-fifth of the number of people Hitler killed in the Holocaust.

Over one and a quarter million deaths so far, almost a hundred thousand more seriously or critically ill, tens or hundreds of family and friends grieving, countless college students having their precious young adult years disrupted and ruined because the spread of the disease must be limited to prevent health services being overwhelmed, countless people in partial or complete lockdown facing terrible anxiety about their jobs and their finances, countless people suffering other illnesses for which they cannot now get treatment, countless others simply enduring the miseries of solitude and isolation – Greg, you have no idea of how I feel when I think about this tragedy.

Separately, correspondence in BMJ on the rapid Point of Care saliva test recently piloted in Manchester (as part of Bojo’s Operation Moonshot) and now being rolled out in Liverpool, missed 50% positive cases.
Hancock and Bojo have spent £323m on these tests already, again using inaccurate testing outside NHS pathology labs will only give rise to more confusion and erroneous epidemiological data.

Yes, Johnson is an ignorant tool. I read the Lancet article and was amazed at all the modeling and assumptions even for this early stage. Then I saw at the end, “policy makers will have to consider whether to mandate vaccination and to create a certificate to record immunization for school, college, or university, and the workplace.”

The press release on the US cov-19 vaccine claimed 90%, however they have not published their “trial data” in a peer reviewed journal to scrutinise, I would doubt it would achieve this in the field in actual practice.
In addition I have concerns overs it safety, storage (-80C) and deployment, given that a new mutation has arisen already in Denmark. By the time it has approval the virus will have already mutated further, reducing its effectiveness further. The Oxford Astra Zeneca vaccine may be better, again we need trial data to evaluate before deployment. Hancock is jumping the gun.
Moonshot is not value for money, the budget has already been absorbed into test, track and trace!

In UK the commonest comorbidity with Cov-19 is CHD Coronary Heart Disease.
If you look at the ONS epidemiological data from January, you will note a Winter flu excess deaths in January, small spike and a massive spike of excess deaths in April/May, due to cov-19, clearly it is the main cause of excess deaths in 2020.
Two thirds of UK Cov-19 deaths are 75+. Mean being 82.4.
