Report: Netrebko’s husband is appointed head of national opera
OperaIt is reported from the capital Baku that the tenor Yusif Eyvazov has been appointed director of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.
There has been no indepdendent confirmation from either side.
The Baku theatre is presently undergoing reconstruction. The previous director was Akif Melikov.
Congratulations are in order! Here’s an idea: For his opening production, Yusif could hire PUTIN to make his operatic debut as Prince [Czar] Orlovsky in ‘Die Fledermaus!!!???’ This would garner international headlines!
