In fact, Kazimierz Gierżod was Rector of the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw, and later President of the Towarzystwo im. Fryderyka Chopina (Chopin Society). He continued to be active until very recently, including membership of the Program Board of the Chopin Institute.
He was my late father’s direct cousin, and I will allways keep incredible memories of him, not only as a great renowned pianist, but as a fun member of my family,
especially when he and his wife came to visit us in West of France many years ago…
