La Monnaie is shut for the rest of the month. The Bozar is calling off individual dates.

Müpa Budapest is closed until 31 March after the Hungarian government declared a state of emergency due to corona virus.

Bavarian Radio has suspended all its ensembles until April 19.

The Tonhalle orchestra in Zurich has cancelled tonight’s concert while a musician is being tested for Coronavirus.

The Oslo Philharmonic has cancelled this week.

Prague has banned audiences of more than 100.

    They are shutting down, probably thinking this will be over in a month or two. It might not end soon though. The 2009-2010 influenza virus pandemic began in the spring, increased in strength over the spring and summer and peaked the following winter.

    As of now the Flemish Opera and Ballet Antwerp/Ghent is also cancelling performances for the coming month.

    I think these shut downs may last for a few months. I myself have lost quite a bit of money by cancelling my entire stay in Berlin & Vienna, cities that do not have much appeal without music, apart from their superb museums. A performance free trip to Scandinavia will have to be the consolation price, provided health remains intact. I think the Mahler Festival in Amsterdam will also be eventually cancelled, but at least Amsterdam is an enjoyable city to spend time.
