Vergogna!!
Parma, of all places… Tout fout le camp !
Red faces all round no doubt!
Embarrassment is an understatement of the century!
Doesn’t anyone check the copy anymore?
Or, do they not know one blond singer from another?
Look what happened with John Williams.
Check? check? Does that involve looking up, or even research? Not in their job descriptions — largely because the people hiring them are not familiar with the terms, or concepts.
At least it wasn’t a picture of John Williams (the composer OR the guitarist).
Debbie looks great in the photo though…
not only the press is full of ignorant fools , count the opera houses and their managements in as well…..
It must be the same Sony intern doing a side gig with this paper.
The very least they could have done was use a picture of a singer with some class. Voigt can’t shine Freni’s shoes.
they even got the article wrong too.. it’s not LA soprano.
Freni or Voigt, the editors at ‘Gazetta di Parma’ may
deserve the Sing Sing prison !
Never happens on SD!
Whoopsy-daisy.
who cares ? now lets be frank
Enough people care. And Parma – where a Verdi Festival takes place ever year, and where Arturo Toscanini was born – should have higher standards.
nice name-dropping but in music the composition counts billion-folds more than the interpreters. There will always be singers , some wonderful , some boring , some simply bad.But there will never be another Verdi. And if somebody mistakes Verdi for Michael Jackson – does that mean a slight for Verdi ?
Only people of innate bad faith will call the appropriate mention of two (2) people “name dropping”. And then invoke the spirit of Neverland, California. Sad!!
“who cares ? now lets be frank”
Translation: “I don’t care, so there’s no reason anybody else should”
what an insult to Freni’s memory – she deserves better at the hands of the Italians, who one would hope actually still care about their operatic cultural heritage
So you think that Mirella is crying and cursing in her tomb because someone mistook a pizza for a lobster ? Rest assured that Mirella can’t care less,,,,
Che schifo! Povera Italia!
I think Debbie should make a trunk call to her solicitors; this is how rumours get started
Per carita….
