Listening to Martha or Yuja, I am starting to believe in aliens and UFO’s !
Beautiful, incredible. Thank you for sharing.
Another amazing thing is that her taste in music have not changed in all those years. It reminds me of Pavarotti who started perhaps with Rodolfo & more or less finished with Rodolfo.
…to me, P IS Rofolfo! This „Che gelida manina„ in the Karajan recording still gives me goosebumps….
This attempt to play this Piano Concerto may seem admirable, but I noticed right away her technique at that age was unpolished,
lacking delacy, rushed and not much thought behind each phrase, in other words — immature as one would expect , and mundane.
LOL. I hope Martha takes your advice. Then she may have a chance to make a career as a pianist.
Your attempt at snark lacks spelling and shows not much thought behind the stream-of-consciousness phrases.
“lacking delacy”….
wow!!! Spelling or knowledge of suitable words here.
What I know about 11 year olds does not bear any resemblance to the wonder of this performance. Amazed is not strong enough a word.
Where did it all go wrong…
Clearly technic and musicality well beyond her age. One of the only similar examples from the 20th century are the accounts of a concert in which the 10 or 11-year-old George Szell performed as pianist, conductor, and composer with the Berlin Philharmonic and Maazel with the Pittsburgh SO as conductor and soloist.
And how about this, aged 7. https://youtu.be/6Lhj98O1kss
Amazing then already.
Yes! Home to Europe. It is simply and stupidly our loss. But he most assuredly does not need the hand-wringing that has become such a brand new financial scam in the US. Hard to believe that so many American opera companies can be so embarrassingly naive.
Miraculous
Incredibly talented for such a young pianist to take on this piece.
Wow!!!!!!
I have this recording on a 2005 CD (IRCO 285)together with Beethoven PC 1 recorded in 1949. It’s far from newly discovered.
UNBELIEVABLE!!!
Great find! It should be noted, though, that the correct term for a “radio tape” is an air check.
As a classical pianist and father of a 1-year old and a 3-year old, I listen to lots of children’s performances on YouTube and such. The musicality here is really unique and extraordinary. And she is already showing indications of “flexible” rhythm/rushing towards the finish line, which is one of the things that makes her performances so exciting to me.
