A month after Slipped Disc reported Boston Conservatory’s sacking of the internationally known clarinet player Michael Norsworthy, the Conservatory has confirmed his dismissal to the Boston Globe.

The reason? ‘Norsworthy ‘was terminated for failing to meet our standards of professional and appropriate communications’.

The real reason? Regrettably, the usual.

Norsworthy has failed to respond to requests for his side of things.

    He has a dog?

  • Alphonse says:

    What an undignified buffoon.

  • Karl says:

The usual? Meaning he had sex with someone right? How are we going to stop this epidemic of men asking women out and having sex with them?? Maybe we should do what they did back in medieval times and only allow eunuchs to have access to women.

  • Alphonse says:

Also, if you’d read the attached account in the Boston Globe, you’d realize that it was male students whom he harassed. You can fall on your sword for m’lady some other day.

  • V.Lind says:

Is saying “the usual” a statement of resignation — are we resigned to the fact that this must happen and it must cost jobs (never ind the lives this bastard destroyed)?

Or is is another man fed up with the continuing story?

In a way we are all fed up, but I suspect our reasons differ.

Women, to be reminded yet again that another man (usually — let’s face it, in the many reported cases from all levels of the music industry, local teacher to global superstar, all those accused so far have been men, whatever the sex of their victims) has been implicated.

For men, judging by some of the comments in the most recent and exotic case, it seems to be “here we go again,” a total shrugging off of empathy for the women affected.
