I may be mistaken, but I think Beverly Sills was another former resident of Hampshire House. It has a nice view of Central Park but for a two-bedroom apartment it’s rather pricey at even $10M. On the other hand, the ease of shopping for necessities of life makes up for the price. Within just a couple blocks there are Harry Winston, Van Cleef and Arpel, Tiffany, Bulgari, De Beers for your jewelry needs, and Hermes, Armani, and Gucci if you need to look spiffy.
I believe Bubbles lived at the Beresford.
You’re right. She lived at the Beresford (a friend of mine – a musicologist who lived there – once told me that she lived in the building). But I do clearly recall reading a profile of her at some point in – I think, New York Magazine – referring to her living in the Hampshire House. As I said, I could be mistaken.
