Since the appalling events of last weekend so many words have been written and spoken. Perhaps too many. Perhaps not enough. I am not going to add to them.
Here is Kol Nidrei, the great Jewish declaration and prayer sung on the eve of the Day of Atonement, with music by Max Bruch.
Music must speak for us when there are no adequate words.

A very haunting version. I am sending it to Jewish friends who enjoy music without being especially informed about it. Isserlis will be new to them and this is a wonderful introduction at such a time as this.
