    Norman, please check your facts.
    You claim that Beethoven’s Kreutzer Sonata is “longer…than any concerto of its time”, yet performances of Beethoven’s own Violin Concerto take on average nine minutes longer than the Kreutzer Sonata.
    In the second paragraph you write about an orchestration “of the Janacek *sonata*”, but in the third paragraph you write of “the Janacek *quartet*”. Which in this context is right?
