The international bass-baritone Gerald Finley has quit IMG Artists to join Maria Mot’s boutique MWA Management.

Finley’s major mid-career switch was triggered by the retirement of his previous manager Stefania Almansi.

He is about to appear with The Theatre of Sound in an innovative production of Bartok’s monumental work Bluebeard’s Castle in a new chamber version at Stone Nest, London, to raise awareness about dementia.

Saw ‘Fidelio’ at Glyndebourne last night. What a complete and utter shambles of a production. The narrator a total & unnecessary distraction. And as for the chaotic video images – utterly misconceived and intruding between many excellent singers and the audience. My very worst Glyndebourne experience ever. Please bin this production.

    • Maria says:

Just wonder what this has that got to do with Stone Nest, raising dementia funds and the wonderful Gerald Finley. Going to Opera you win some productions, you lose some.

  • V. Lind says:

Surprised, with your current fixation, you deemed Finley “international” rather than what he is, “Canadian.” It’s not as if regulars here would not know who he is.

  • wow says:

Between the IMG senior artists leaving and the young artists they keep signing, IMG seems to becoming a kindergarten for young singers.
