Loved this. Thanks, Norman.
I have Prokofiev playing his 3rd concerto .
Oh to have a recording of his own premiere of his 3rd piano concerto with the Chicago Symphony in 1921, or even photos of the concert. An NFT of that performance would be worth a pretty bitcoin.
This is priceless. Thank you for sharing this, Norman.
Wonderful! Now if anyone could find a video of Kreisler playing beyond the only one that s out there, we violinists would be in heaven. THERE MUST BE ONE!!! 🙂
Can not express enough appreciation for the opportunities such as this to learn about the lives of my favorite composers.
If not for slippedisc, surely I would never have seen this wonderful documetary. Many thanks to all who make this possible and at my fingertips
I really hope they release from the archives the full tape of Prokofiev playing with Persimfans….I swear there was an excerpt, with actual sound…maybe I’m mistaken though
I love this music and I appreciated the astringent personality of Prokofiev.
The composer who wanted to be Rachmaninoff.
Marvellous. Thanks for sharing this. So evocative.
Extraordinary music….. extraordinary personality. Too bad he let himself be trapped by the communists.
Fascinating!!! Thank you NL!!
