Yuja’s pleased, but who’ll carry her bag?
NewsMessage from the piano diva:
Thank you Longchamp for sending this beautiful gift to brighten my day! Can’t wait to take it everywhere with me.
All very well, but she does like to have someone to carry it for her.
What’s that supposed to mean? Is she a diva?
Is she not? lol
It gives the impression of just another ‘influencer’ making money with not-so-hidden advertising.
What do you mean?
Yuja Wang is a wonderful pianist. The rest is noise.
The rest is continuing obsession…
Nice gift!
Makes me wanna bag Yuja as well.
(Of course, which brand shall I send to her?)
Yes, and while we are at it, that doubtless overpriced container (of damned little) is pretty useless. I couldn’t get across the room, let alone go anywhere, with a bag as small as that.
And any comment you or I post here, dislikes galore..
(The glass for them.. is forever half empty)
Sheesh…was just making a small joke above.
When I see and feel how these Classical music observers think on this site, it almost makes me want to quit playing music…
Please do.
I can quit anytime but you can’t quit.
That being said..it is impossible to quit a musical career that you actually never had any success in, you’re just a pro SD Keyboard Warrior at best.
Can she carry her own piano in it? That would be ideal – a fold-up piano that fits in a bag. Like the car George Jetson flew in.
I happily volunteer!!!
I think this is what you call padding…..
This is a misguided adverting ploy by Longchamp.
They gave Yuja a free purse so she’d advertise their brand. The problem is that Yuja’s fans – at least the ones who look at her pictures – are almost all men. Just look at the comments in every post about Yuja on Slipped Disc. 99% men.
Women buy purses, not men. Especially not the men following Yuja. Just saying. . .
Lol, have you ever heard of gifts? Some husbands do that sort of thing…
LOL back, Pierre. As I said, the men following Yuja don’t strike me as the type who’d be buying purses. That includes for their wives if they even have them. I was trying to be diplomatic.
“The problem is that Yuja’s fans – at least the ones who look at her pictures – are almost all men.”
You are quite wrong on that. I don’t have statistical data, but neither do you. I can tell you at least on Chinese social media her fans (the ones who leave comments on her account) are quite obviously majority women.
“Just look at the comments in every post about Yuja on Slipped Disc. 99% men.”
Again, you don’t know. But even if it is true (but certainly not the number 99%), that’s hardly surprising given the way Slipped Disc spins every story about her. It’s always about her clothes, and now it’s pivoted to what a difficult “diva” she is, even though he has zero evidence for it and has to make up stories and add insinuating commentaries (“who will carry her bags?”) to make the narrative work.
Well, I guess then Longchamp will be selling more purses in China.
China is an enormous, and highly desirable, market for imported luxury goods, so it seems like a logical move.
“I can tell you at least on Chinese social media her fans (the ones who leave comments on her account) are quite obviously majority women.”
OK, but she lives in New York and plays mainly in the West, not China.
That being said, she is just a normal looking Chinese girl dressing in skimpy clothes whom happens to be exceptional at piano.
It blows my my mind, all the middle aged white dude that say Lucy Liu is hot…Can’t agree…
Perhaps we could recalibrate our tastes if you give us a list of Asians we should consider hot.
In exchange for such a valuable service, I’ll tell you that you need to read up on the difference between who and whom.
Damn…I was just snarked.
Some men buy “purses” for their women………….granted that’s a second derivative marketing idea…………
It’s a skimpy bag! But a nice colour …
Didn’t Yuja Wang also have deals with Rolex (watch)? and Rimowa (luggage)? Good for her – why shouldn’t a star classical musician exploit her product endorsement potential, just as star footballers do?
Meanwhile, in Kabul…
Fits two of her dresses and a toothbrush. All set.
