The Georgian pianist Khatia Buniatishvili, huge in France, has yet to make it seriously in the English-speaking world.

Khatia has just parted company with her veteran manager Doug Sheldon and signed on for a North American reboot with Stefana Atlas at Arabella Arts.

Her worldwide management remains with her sister, Gvantsa Buniatishvili.

for a moment I read this as ‘Reboobs’…

  • Manu says:

Serious promoters do not invite her anymore.

  • Tony Sanderson says:

When I saw her Schubert recital in London, it was pretty much sold out (in either the Barbican or the Royal Festival Hall) with rapturous applause.

But I think a reboot for publicity and marketing is a good idea.

Selfishly, I am very happy to hear that Khatia will be performing more in North America. Also, hopefully Gvantsa will be persuaded to perform a duet or two+ with her sister as well. Talent runs deep in the Buniatishvili family.

  • Ludwig's Van says:

She played a short american tour a few years back – one astute critic characterized her approach as “butchery”. I suffered through half of her recital and left in disgust. She doesn’t need concerts – she needs lessons!
