Fire! Chetham’s School evacuated in the small hours

Students had to be evacuated after a fire broke out at Chetham’s School of Music in the early hours.
The fire started in a concert hall at the Long Millgate campus in Manchester city centre at around 2.20am on Thursday.

Smoking – most likely a shuttlecock from previous P.E lessons on top of the lights set on fire. This is a now usual occurrence for Chetham’s in this very room. They should have acted on past fires over the past 8 years and put measures into place.
