Blow to German opera, as Bonn stays shut until August
OperaTheater Bonn has scrapped the rest of the season. It will not reopen for rehearsals until late August
‘We are of the opinion that under current conditions with the lack of planning security, effort and benefit are in no relation to each other, both in artistic and economic terms,’ a spokesman said.
Other opera houses are still talking of opening in May, but Bonn’s lead pour cold water on these hopes.
Bonn doesn’t lead anything anymore.
But they could use the time to renovate the building.
