The violinist has issued this warning:

It has come to my attention that someone continues to be impersonating me on Facebook/social media through an unofficial page and is requesting “charitable” funds from my followers. They are suggesting they are me or that they are connected with me and one individual is asking for payments via PayPal to the following address: joycebaraza584@gmail.com. Please know that I would never solicit funds and please do not succumb to this impersonator or anyone else who is impersonating me. I do not send individual messages through Facebook/social media and I communicate online only through posts on my official Facebook/social media channels.
Very truly yours,
Itzhak Perlman
Can anyone help idenifty Joyce Baraza?

  • Rogerio says:

Urgent Message to Those looking for Joyce Baraza:
    – Go to Wikipedia and look up “The Police”.
    – Try to understand what “The Police” do.
    – Contact “The Police”.
    – State your problem to “The Police”.
    I hope this helps.

    • Rogerio says:

I am afraid I owe you all an apology.
Would you believe there is no entry in Wikipedia for the actual “The Police”, only for “The Police – the rock band”?. Geeezzzusss.
      I don’t have words…
Does anyone know how to find Joyce Beraza?

    • Rogerio says:

      Wait a minute!
Does this mean that e-mail I received from Itzhak Perlman requesting a contribution to help Trump pay off his election debt was a fake?
Then where did my money go?????

      • Fernandel says:

Calm down Rogerio and just wait a while. If Donald remains President, you get full refund.

      • Karl says:

Your money is in Moscow with my beautiful Russian girlfriend Tatjana. I keep sending her money so she can buy a ticket to the US but her relatives keep needing the money for urgent life saving surgeries.

        • Rogerio says:

          (Emeritus) President Trump!
          You don’t fool me.
I thought you were playing golf!!

        • Old Man in the Midwest says:

Hey wait a minute. My girlfriend in Moscow has the same name and I’ve been sending her money to come to the US to visit me. But there is illness in her family like your girlfriend. Considering how large the USSR is, this is quite a coincidence.

    • Timothy Dale says:

How completely uninformed, RACIST and xenophobic of you Rogerio!!!!!

      Democrats are DE-FUNDING the police!

The Left is on its own now…

      • Joel A Stein says:

The phrase “defunding” is a misnomer-it means the funding the Police receive in various cities and towns will now be scrutinized as is the local school budget.

        • William Safford says:

True. In addition, people are questioning the basis for much of what constitutes today’s policing in the United States. (Note that there is no one U.S. police force. There are thousands of discrete police forces, at the local, county, and state level, all with widely differing levels of training and experience.)

Historically, policing has had as much to do with controlling “undesirable” populations (e.g. poor, minority) and keeping them in their place (often, slums created expressly for them), as it did with protecting people.

We see that today, in the unequal and often inhumane treatment of minorities by the police. How many “Proud Boys” or neo-Nazis have been choked to death, shot in the back, or otherwise killed by the police? None. Why do we regularly see it happen with minorities who are on video not resisting arrest, or at worst running away, but not with white offenders who actually have committed violent acts?

This brings up a corollary: the infiltration of certain police departments by right wing white supremacists. Standard disclaimer, to protect the egos of certain people: most police are not that way. But more than a few are.

There is a movement to rethink wholesale the proper use of the police, as well as their training, armament, and more.

Many police forces were militarized in recent decades. Absent a few specialized forces, is this truly necessary? This is being questioned.

How and when should police be deployed? If someone is having a mental health issue, are the police the best people to respond? Or would it be better for someone trained in mental health to respond? Or, perhaps mental health experts, with an LEO to assist as needed.

To use another example to help skeptics understand better, are the police the best people to arrive at a house on fire? Sure, they can help, but they are not fire fighters. They don’t necessarily have the training (unless they happen to be cross-trained as fire fighters), and do not have the equipment, to fight a fire.

Yet, police are called upon to take care of all sorts of situations that might be better addressed by other professionals, who have the training and the experience to handle those situations.

Furthermore, much of police training, programs police to believe that all of us are the enemy. Well, all of us aren’t, unless we are set up in such a Manichean way as to make it a self-fulfilling prophesy.

In the U.S., policing has as its forebears, slave patrols. We see some residue of that ethos in policing to this day.

          • Fernandel says:

I agree with you William and incidentally find strange that (all) CSO strikers avoid truncheon blows.

          • Daniel P. Lynne says:

When YOU move to a place without any police William (like CHAZ in Portland or CHOP pre-reclamation by the police…lol) and stop contributing to capitalism by giving up your computer, phone and internet; the world will rejoice in watching your fear with no law enforcement.

Your lily white neighbors make you feel too safe for all your diversity whining.

You people don’t have the stones to exist without police and military protection. It’s all cheap talk by you as usual Safford.

          • William Safford says:

Daniel, you revel in your ignorance as you reveal it for all to see.

There is a cure for ignorance. But first you need to be willing to let go of your ignorance, and open your mind to learn new ideas.

          • DD says:

Thank you, William. I appreciate your informed comment. It’s too bad people on this site are so resistant to the verifiable facts you state.

          • T. Figueroa says:

To be clear, the solution is to simply not break or flout the law and be respectful of others their personal space and their property.

Norman’s bots like “William Safford, S, DD, Greg BOTtini, etc” resist facts without respecting others as their comments are rooted in fear and insecurity pablum.

The statement “Many police forces were militarized in recent decades” HAD to be done to combat all sorts of criminal elements in varying degrees (both domestic and foreign) such as:
            drug units,
multiple types of religious criminal organization units,
            cyber criminals,
financial fraudsters like Bernie Madoff and his crew,
            gambling units,
            pet and wildlife abuse units,
            sex crime rings,
            vice units,
            gang units,
            foreign violent gang units,
both domestic and foreign terrorists like ANTIFA,
            espionage units,
political protection and monitoring like the secret service and capital police,
            plus many more!

They go both on the front lines as well as undercover risking their lives at times to keep the great USA as safe as possible. You and other Libs hate them (until of course you NEED them and cry inequality/racism/whatever) while the rest of us respect and salute them as our daily protectors!

Nobody wants ANTIFA or BLM around as they have demonstrated themselves to be violent criminal agitators and aggressors who love to steal. The Proud Boys led by a non-white and other groups defend against leftist, domestic terror organizations like them and protect the vulnerable.

We’ll take law enforcement and military might over the sloppy pee-wee SJW KKKlan ANY day!

Trump brought respect back to law enforcement made up of all kinds of diverse people you hate. Obama promulgated hatred of the police and military.

They also keep YOU safe you know. You people on the left are deplorably uneducated and unappreciative as to how lucky you are to live in America where immigrants flee TO from undesirable situations.

We love our law enforcers and revere their courage! Those that don’t need to GTFO!!! No doubt your utopias of Saudi Arabia, China, Cuba, Africa, Venezuela would welcome your spouting off so go seek asylum there. Can’t wait to hear all about your take on life after renouncing your citizenship!

          • William Safford says:

“To be clear, the solution is to simply not break or flout the law and be respectful of others their personal space and their property.”

Since when it is correct for the police to execute people!

T., that statement shows a profound level of denial on your part, as well as contempt of Black people.

Many of the Black people murdered by the police were *innocent* of any crime.

Many others were murdered unnecessarily over some trivial violation, such as Eric Garner, who was killed by police in New York City for selling cigarettes on a street corner. *Tobacco* cigarettes!

Let go of your prejudices, learn more about this issue, and become more informed.

            Or, please stop trolling.

          • Josiah says:

“Since when it is correct for the police to execute people!”

You are currently reveling in the execution of a woman with blood gushing out of her right now. Go ahead and gloat like the rest!!

The body count is only up to 4 though.

          • William Safford says:

You may be gloating. I am not gloating. How revolting of you to attempt to put such words in my mouth.

Only one of the four dead is due to a shooting of an insurrectionist by defenders of the members of Congress and the Vice President.

Are you gloating about four deaths? Are you gloating about this shooting? Are you gloating about this insurrection?

          • Greg Bottini says:

            T. Figueroa, I am quite pleased to be on your list of “Norman’s bots”, because I think you are, purely and simply, an idiot.
I have two close relatives who are policemen, and I love and respect them and the job they do, which is probably the toughest job extant.
There are, of course, abuses and malfeasance going on in law enforcement, just like there are in government and the military, and of course I would like to see all bad behavior cleaned up in those fields of endeavor.
But in NO WAY do I “hate” either the police forces, the military, or the government. Just the bad apples within them.
So now, T. Figueroa, you can crawl back into your hole of ignorance and hate with the rest of the Proud Boys, traitors, and MAGAts.

I looked up the Police but I found out that Sting had retired and now wants to be called Stung.

  • Nijinsky says:

Tis probably the plant in his backyard, which won’t die, but struggle the whole Winter, then collapse in pieces each sprouting roots.

Might even be my boyfriend: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WB_0wyKi2SM&fmt=22

  • Nijinsky says:

Could also be the Bach family, actually. They aren’t easy to get away from! Poison, poison poison poison

  • yujafan says:

Sadly, this is hardly the first case and it won’t be the last. Good on Mr Perlman for calling this out.

  • Gustavo says:

Something similar happened to Svatoslav Richter.

So the communication I received from Itzhak Perlman asking for my advice on fingerings for Pablo de Sarasate’s Caprice Basque was not really from him? I, I … I worked so hard ….
