A new-music festival diesmain
From London’s Borough New Music:
It is with heavy hearts that we write to inform you that the planned 2019-20 Borough New Music season will not be going ahead. The team’s changing commitments have given us pause. We have come to the conclusion that the current model needs to be rethought in order for it to be sustainable in terms of time and financial commitment. We currently do not have the capacity to make the changes that Borough New Music needs, so we have been forced to adjourn.
There were three cracking seasons – totalling 72 concerts, involving 254 composers and 122 performers, including 88 premieres – all celebrating the music of today. You can watch a snapshot of this season’s highlights here.
Thanks to all those involved for their contribution and enthusiastic support, which made Borough New Music thrive. Thanks too to our funders for making Borough New Music possible, and to our audiences for their loyalty and enthusiasm.
We are proud of what we have achieved and hope that others may be inspired to follow.
With warmest regards,
Clare, Nick and Hollie
