Israel loses a leading composer

The composer and all-round musician Alona Turel has been found dead of an apparent heart attack at 75.

She was widely known as piano accompanist and composer for Hava Albertstein and Arik Einstein and as a founder of the Platina jazz group.

  • We went to school years ago. Alona was the most talented girl in the class and later became a leading artist in the Israeli pop/rock scene. She was adorable, God bless her soul.
