Hong Kong Phil picks German manager
mainThe manager of the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern is to be the next chief exec of the Hong Kong Philharmonic.
Benedikt Fohr, who has put in 12 years in his present job, will succeed Michael Macleod next April.
Fohr is 55.
He will have Jaap van Zweden as his music director and more good restaurants at his door than he can ever visit. He will also find good tailors.
Herr Fohr looks like he enjoys a good dinner
Sorry, but this is a stupid remark. Mr Fohr is a very good college and prominent orchestra manager. Congratulations to him and the orchestra in Hong Kong. Sorry to miss him in Germany!
Not much better on Hong Kong, which has a considerable amount more to offer than restaurants and tailors.
==this is a stupid remark
Let’s not be too sensitive. Since the OP said “..,…more good restaurants at his door than he can ever visit. He will also find good tailors.”
Plus the fact that Mr Fohr is wearing a clearly expensive suit – it does beg the question of him enjoying the cuisine !
Anyway, good luck to the guy.
