PD is 76. Angela is fine. Both are supporting Carreras, who is 70, having lived with leukemia for 30 years.
And for reasons all too evident, at least two of the three should be nowhere near a stage. And the less said about the third clown the better.
Kenneth Tynan once wrote of Edith Evans, “She acts like royalty at a palace garden party.” I think these words would suit Gheorghiu’s singing even better.
