US orchestra appoints British CEO
mainThe Stamford Symphony in Connecticut has recruited Russell Jones, presently with the New York Philharmonic, as president and CEO.
Jones, a former head of the Association of British Orchestras, worked as director of major gifts at the NY Phil.
I trust he’s better than Brits Michael Henson and Tony Woodcock.
And why should his nationality have any bearing on his ability at all?
Singling out the two Brits in this business because they were appalling, I’m hoping Jones will be the opposite.
