Tragic news: Violinist Dmitri Kogan dies at 38
mainThe Russian violinist Dmitri Kogan died today at 38, of cancer.
An international performer with many recordings to his credit, Dmitri was a member of Russian’s most prolific musical dynasty. He was the grandson of the violinists Leonid Kogan and Elizaveta Gilels, herself the sister of the pianist Emil Gilels.
His father is the conductor Pavel Kogan.

So sad. RIP. His grandfather Leonid Kogan also died very young at age 58, what a great loss to humanity for both of these virtuosi to leave us so early.
