Funny to see his name here on your blog, Norman. The rumor in Berlin is that a “young Canadian” was recently caught between Deutsche Oper and Komische Oper, with Runnicles and Kosky battling to have him as their next Kapellmeister. Only time will tell if he made the right decision…

I had the chance to see him conduct Onegin in Berlin last Sunday and it was the most remarkable debut I’ve seen in years! Bravo Maestro De Souza. Excellent letter scene (Muraveva as Tatiana) and GREAT polonaise!!
