The Ruhr city of Hagen has named Joseph Trafton, 38 from Kentucky, as its next GMD.

He is presently first kapellmeister in Mannheim.

    Hagen (pop 189,000) is the 41st-largest city in Germany, and the birthplace of Sir Charles Hallé, founder of The Hallé orchestra in 1858.
