The tree looks more like a collection of VCR tapes and DVDs with a sprinkling of what looks like some Penguin black spine paperbacks. Nary a CD to these eyes. Anyway, a nice bit ornamentation for the upcoming festive season.
This is hardly an original conception. Just Google “christmas tree made out of books” and dozens of similar images show up. But do the same for “christmas tree made out of CDs” turns up only pictures of naked CDs arranged in tree-like configurations and few, if any, stacks of CD “jewel cases” arranged like the items in the above photo. Besides, CDs are unfortunately now considered junk, as in this link to an “Eco Friendly Junk Makeover”:
