In a season brochure of the opera house in Perth (Australia) it was once advertised that it would be doing Elektra by Johann Straus (sic).
Probably somone of the staff had heard Elektra’s last scene which holds a waltz.
I had to smile about this. In 1972, I played in the orchestra for the New York premiere of “Boulevard Solitude,” at the Manhattan School of Music. Anton Coppola conducted and Henze was in attendance.
But they have a fancy website. Probably cost a fortune.
Give the content editing to the interns.
Who cares about content, it’s all about the wrapping, no?
I remember when interns were the best and the brightest.
God, am I really that old?
