Thomas Quasthoff is touring cabaret. First date: the Vienna Opera
UncategorizedThe great and much loved baritone, forced into early retirement two years ago due to health issues, is going back on the road with a cabaret act.
His tour launches at the Vienna Opera on September 16.
Support acts: Christoph Eschenbach (piano), Michael Shade (tenor). Not bad for a cabaret beginner.
Details here.
Wonderful news in a way. “Great” is an understatement when it comes to Thomas Quasthoff – he’s one of the most remarkable, most thrilling and most life-enhancing artists of our lifetimes.
Great to have him back ..in whatever
capacity.
Slight correction: Quasthoff is not a cabaret beginner. He was successful with his fantastic cabaret program “Keine Kunst” only last season.
