Just in: Lang Lang announces his comeback
mainThe Chinese pianist will play Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor, K.491, on the opening night of Tanglewood, July 6. Nelsons conducts.
It will be Lang Lang’s first live performance since he was invalided out 15 months ago.
We wish him well.
Sometimes, after being ill for a while, performers come back wiser than they were before. Let’s hope for the best, because he certainly has the chops to be one of the finest.
He’s back baaaaack.
Now why does that photo remind me of this?

Same shallow, narcissistic personality, perhaps?
“Now why does that photo remind me of this?”
How should we know? Who knows what kind of thoughts have gone through that particular brain of yours?
Leave George Costanza out of this.
Lang Lang brings more people to classical music than Nelsons, Kaufmann, Opolais, and the Boston Symphony, combined.
Think about that.
No, really, think about that.
I’m sure they’re attracted to his line of perfume, watches, sodas, and fur coats. The Chinese audience love Langberace.
+1
Define ‘bringing to classical music’ !
Really if you want to attend a circus show, try Fossetts in Bray Co. Wicklow, otherwise Dinu Lipatti is a hard act to follow eg Chopin Walz b minor op 69 no 2.
