Death of Paris Conservatoire chief, aged 62
mainThe Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse in Paris has announced the death of its president, Rémy Pflimlin.
Appointed head of France Télévisions by Nicolas Sarkozy, he stood down last year after protracted battles with the Hollande regime, moving to the less heated environment of the conservatoire.
Rémy Pflimlin was passionate about contemporary music, president of the Musica festival from 2001.
R. Pflimilin was chairman of the board, with no executive functions. The “Paris Conservatoire chief” is director Bruno Mantovani.
I am deeply sorry to learn of the untimely passing of the Paris Conservatory President, Remy Pfilmlin ~ having great internationally known colleagues at
this renowned Conservatoire, I send my very saddened condolences to an old
friend and co – competitor from the First International Sibelius Violin Competition, Jean Jacques Kantarow, Professor of Violin, whom I ‘m sure is deeply upset at
this news and loss of the President of the Paris Conservatoire ~
With sincere sympathy to Jean Jacques, All musical colleagues and to the Family of Remy Pfilmlin ~
