Russians mourn music activist, 60
RIPRussian musicians at home and abroad are saddened by the sudden death of the composer Petr Pospelov, widely known as an incisive music critic and musicologist.
No cause is yet known. He went to hospital yesterday and, hours later, was no more.
From 1993 to 1997 Pospelov was a music columnist at Kommersant, and then headed the culture department at Russian Telegraph. In 2003 he joined the editorial office of Vedomosti and from 2005 to 2017 was editor of its culture department.
The author of some very thoughtful and insightful texts – particularly on subjects little known outside of Russia. RIP.
There were (since edited) – and still are – errors in the above post. I drew attention to this, but my post was deleted. Very interesting ‘censorship’ going on in these pages.
A sad loss.
A Russian activist? That seems to be adequate evidence to adduce the cause of death.
He died from was natural causes.
