A prize for Leif Segerstam’s daughter
OperaThe world’s most prolific symphonist – 352, as of last month – has cause to swell with pride.
His daughter Iirisilona Segerstam, has won the singing prize at the Savonlinna Opera Festival.
It’s worth 15,000 Euros.
Iirisilona is a student at the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.
Congratulations to Ms. Segerstam. Small wonder that she was so honored, given the healthy set of pipes she likely inherited from her dad, as seen/heard in this beloved clip:

It’s gone all quiet around her dad.
Does he still conduct?
His last performance in Finland (few months ago) was cancelled due to health reasons. I hope he is fine …
She has no beard — I want my money back.
He once had no beard.

352 symphonies!! What, they’re counting NOTES now??!!!
I know nothing of his daughter, but Leif is great.
Wouldn’t Hovhannes be considered more prolific?
