A great artist RIP.
I’ve never heard of a clarient, but Colin Bradbury was one of the great Orchestral clarinetists of his day. He had such a beautiful tone. RIP.
I was only watching a DVD of the BBCSO with Gennady Rozdestvensky performing Shostakovich Symphony No.4 with Colin Bradbury as Principal Clarinet. RIP.
Lovely man & fine clarinettist. I met him several times at local music festivals where he was a sympathetic adjudicator
A very alumnus of the National Youth Orchestra.
A very early alumnus . . . I meant to say.
Colin was an amazing musician.
His recordings of various undiscovered gems for Clarinet and Piano are superlative. A hugely eminent teacher at the Royal College of Music his memory will live on through his many successful pupils and grand pupils in the profession today. Thank You Mr. Bradbury
And don’t forget his distinguished son John Bradbury!
Does anyone know if Bradbury ever recorded the Howells sonata?
He had a nice role in the 2012 Dustin Hoffman-directed movie Quartet. Plays too, beautifully as always. RIP sir.
