Julia Gorodetskaya reports:

Dr Ivan Kuzminskyi, Associate Professor at the Department of Early Music of Ukraine’s National Academy of Music was killed in action on May 17 near Luhansk. He was 39, and from Berdichev.

The International Society for Orthodox Church Music writes: It is with great sadness that we inform the ISOCM community of the passing of Ivan Kuzminskyi, musicologist and scholar of early modern church music in Ukraine.

Dmytro Kokoshynskyy writes: It is hard to believe… Ivan Kuzminskyi is gone now in the battles for Eastern Ukraine… He was an incredible person, a truly fantastic musicologist, one of the best researchers of early music in Ukraine. He was indeed a hero, defender of our country. It was an honor to know him and to work with him a little bit back then before the full-scale war.

    Rest in peace.

That’s “russkiy mir” for you. That.

While I write these lines there’s an air raid alarm in Kyiv. Again. Like every night these days.

I hope my friends there survive the night.

    Fuck ruzzia.

An absolute hero and a great loss!!

  • Tamino says:

America will keep fighting this war determined and heroically, to the last Ukrainian.

(yes, Putin the war criminal invaded. But not ALL guilt lies

    • Genius Repairman says:

Tamino, when Russia headed towards Ukraine the US offered to get Zelenskii out of there. Ukraine chose to defend itself, nobody forced them. If the west were really so war mongering they would have supplied Ukraine with masses of weapons when Russia started stirring up trouble when they armed the Russian separatists and annexed Crimea about nine years ago.

  • Sisko24 says:

There are many in the U.S. who blame this conflict on the U.S. for NOT arming Ukraine with better weapons in 2014 during and after the invasion of Crimea by Russia. So if someone wants to rewrite/revise history, maybe they should blame (former) President Obama and his administration for not going into ‘full beast mode/warmonger mode’ against Putin back then. Revising history can be a multi-edged sword and a b****.
