Manchester gets German leader
OrchestrasThe Halle Orchestra has appointed Marie Schreer as leader of its second violins.
A widely travelled musician from Southwest Germany, Schreer has worked with Jonny Greenwood, Rick Wakeman, Stewart Copeland and other rock musicians while playing in a diversity of ensembles. She also has her own label.
This is wonderful news: her appointment is richly deserved! Well done, Marie!!
A ‘wideky’ travelled musician—learning one new vocabulary with every post here at SD.
To have such a biography and get a place of second violins?
If they ever make a biopic of the actress Joely Richardson, this young lady would be a dead ringer!
