  • I deem important to say that composers, scientists, writers, and artists in general, being the creators of works of art that will remain alive in the culture after the end of its author’s existence, should receive special treatment and protection in times of peril. This would be a fair way to recognize and positive discrimination.

  • Julian says:

Valentin Silvestrov is right now close to Ukrainian city Vinnitsa. As far as I know he (84) , his daughter and his grandson are very tired, but safe. Tomorrow morning they will continue to travel towards hungarian or slovac border with hopes to escape. Lest pray for them

  • Greg Bottini says:

Best wishes and good luck to you and your family, Maestro Silvestrov.

My sympathies are with you and your countrymen and countrywomen.

  • Walter says:

Valentin Silvestrov and his family are on their way to Berlin. They are safe.
