That’s fast healing, and it’s rather concerning if true that he is to beack on the platform in March. DB, a fan of Furtwangler, would do well to learn from the Maestro’s example that the desire for a quick cure to ones ailments does not always end well. Better to recover well in time, than rush it – even if only for the sake of long term personal health rather than any musical commitments.
Daniel will listen to the best medical advice and make his own decision. We wish him well.
Mariusz Kwiecień had to end his opera career after unsuccessful back surgery. They fail at a very high rate. It’s not something to rush into.
It depends on semantics. People refer to all procedures as an “operation.” But having undergone back procedures, there is a massive difference ranging from getting up from the table and going back to work immediately to long-term rehabilitation. Without knowing precisely what was done, it is truly impossible that say.
So soon???
I thought it wizer to wait 2 or 3 months before standing up again!!
It was a cover-up story, the real location of the operation was somewhere else, a location less suited for PR.
Jerk
Siberia perhaps?
Very, very unkind, not smart, and unnecessary.
Which operation or procedure do you mean?
Best wishes, Maestro. Recover quickly.
A superlative pianist (no one but no one plays the ‘Moonlight’ like him. No fiddly-widdles – look at me
I can play the piano!!) just pure powerful lyricism!) A great conductor and a wonderful showman) Your fans all wish you a good recovery.
No one plays The Moonlight like him?…..Errrr ,dunno…..I´ve heard quite alot……Just some of those still active today…..Hewitt,Schiff,Andsnes,Jonathan Biss,Levit….especially also in the 3rd mvt, where abit more than powerful lyricism is required
Danny will have had the best medical advice and treatment, and so great we’ll have him back asap when the time is right.
He will be back on 6TH march conducting Schubert Unfinished symp and Beethoven ‘Eroïca’ to raise funds for Ukraine.
