Liverpool mulls a Brian Epstein statue
NewsThe BBC’s WATO has run a feature on a proposed statue for the Beatles’ manager, an initiative led by a cousin of Paul McCartney’s.
LGBT groups are backing the installation, claiming that it would be the first statue of a gay person in the city.
It might also be the first Jew on a Mersey plinth.
The city council has yet to grant planning permission.
Three flies in one slap: three times a member of a local minority, 1) amorous interest; 2) ethnic minority; 3) manager of the Beatles. A monument to the Great Awokening.
Sit down codger, you are embarrassing yourself…..
You are on the wrong website.
So alright, there may be no Jew on a plinth in Liverpool but Liverpool Resurgent is by Jacob Epstein and he wasn’t a goy boy now was he?
Why do people have to be identified by their assumed religion? Do we have Christian, Muslim statues etc. No they are just statues.
There are monuments to Christianity literally everywhere.
That’s not the point I was trying to make.
Your point does not make any sense.
And why by their sexual orientation? Statues are presumably put up because of accomplishment.

There is a statue of George Cholmondeley, 2nd Earl of Cholmondeley, in Barton-le-Clay, raised in honor of his explorations of vegetarism, one of the first daring dietal experiments in the 17th century. Unfortunately his digestion problems prevented him to fulfil his duties as a general under King William. It is the first statue in Britain dedicated to a personal orientation. Since then, enthusiasm for such honors have declined considerably.
There has been a statue of Disraeli in Liverpool since 1883.
There is Arthur Dooley’s ‘Black Christ’ plus very many other sculptural representations, indoor and outdoor, of the same person.
