Wonderful!
An encore after having performed the Grieg with Paavo Berglund. It’s also on the Tube.
You need a singing tone like Gilels’ to put this piece across. It is one of the great oddities about Sibelius that even as his symphonies became ever more densely argued and concentrated and even disconcerting , he continued to write these brief miniatures for piano, and violin with piano, works which seem to preserve in aspic his earliest style and manner.
Thank you!!!!!
Beautiful!
Possibly the greatest pianist of all time. I have heard nothing of his I did not like.
