Pre-festival outdoor events have been cancelled in the aftermath of heavy rain and flooding. Some Viennese artists are delaying their arrival for rehearsal until the weather settles down. Report here.

    Long before this terrible hundred years’ flood, Gerald Moore wrote about the festival, “How it can rain in Salzburg! Even Herbert von Karajan cannot stop it.”
