No Mahler scheduled on BBC Radio 3 on 7/7. What sort of classical music station is that?
Good question…I guess an “all inclusive” one.
The good old Bayerische Rundfunk in Munich had a tel. nr. on offer where listeners could ask for their favorite Mahler work to be played…
Much Mahler today on NY’s WQXR.
I never forget Mahler’s birthday. Every year I spend the whole day listening to a wide selection of his music. This year it’s symphonies 1, 3, 4, 7, 9 with Ozawa and Boston, Das Lied with Paul Kletzki. Wonderful way to spend a hot summer day. Happy Birthday!
Thank you!
Beautiful tribute, beautiful woman, beautiful gown…like a
summer garden, with butterflies.
Thanks!
Can’t say I remembered this insignificant note scribbler yesterday or any other day. It’s all fluff, hyperbole, angst and me, me , me. What on earth is the point of it all? Give me Bruckner or Brahms any day – they are composers worthy of the title.
I just went back to March 21 on this site. No one mentions Bach’s birthday. Absolutely nothing. Is he really much less important than Mahler??
Glorious, and a fitting tribute to both Mahler and Ms Norman
His day has come. Happy 161st!
