Entirely irelevant as art.
Performers changing representation is always a painful and difficult thing. Reasons may vary from the performer being neglected to the manager being exploited and everything in between. And the aspect of money and its power balance is always a hot item, like in marriages and politics.
I know of great performers being manipulated by their agent, and the other way around. And of heartbreak after many years of effective investment by the agent, only to be dropped by the player who takes the benefits to another agent who will reap the results. Sometimes the two parties simply marry, which solves lots of problems.
