The death has been reported of Sheldon Soffer, artist manager and ballet presenter, who ran his agency from 1960 to 1999.
Sheldon was 93.
His clients included Pilobolus, the Mark Morris Dance Group and Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo.

Sheldon was very kind to me in the late 80’s when I was considering a career in artist management, and he invited me to intern at his agency. He was a generous mentor with a great sense of humor. I recall artists on his roster at the time included the Emerson String Quartet, Lucy Shelton, David (now Sara Davis) Buechner, and Gérard Souzay. I never forgot Sheldon’s kindness…RIP.
