St Petersburg orchestra in disarray as rejected conductor is reappointed
mainAt least six musicians and a deputy director have quit the St. Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra after the reappointment of Alexander Titov as artistic director.
The players voted overwhelmingly against his retention.
But Titov has good connections in the Kremlin.
As the saying goes: it’s not what you know, but who you know.
No worries; Putin will have those recalcitrant players and that director sent to Siberia and/or poisoned. Problem solved!
