The Armenian cellist Medea Abrahamyan died yesterday at the age of 89.

She was one of Slava’s first students and a lifelong favourite.

Medea performed widely and was professor of cello in Yerevan.

    I wonder if she is any relation to the wonderful soprano Varduhi with the same surname?
