Turandot, not Tosca! Is her ultra-nationalist hubby joining her?
Already getting tired of her Tosca. This venture into heavier rep just sounds laborious and woofy with an uneven top.
After her Aida they probably don’t want another makeup controversy.
Opera in concert is boring as hell. At least there is Netrebko who can save the thing, but the opera in concert version should be eradicated.
I wish singers wouldn’t overload their voices like this. She is never a Turandot. Anna, stick to lighter roles.
I agree, but not because I find her voice not right for it but because Turandot is a boring role for any great singer/actress.
Only two acts, mainly standing around, not much chance to act. And she’s such an intense performer. I find her a bit wasted for Turandot.
Indeed, I totally agree with Michael Tanner!
