The Easter Festival has announced Anna Netrebko as Turandot, but has abandoned the planned staging and will perform the opera only as a concert.

The hall is presently safe for 1,400 seats.

Turandot, not Tosca! Is her ultra-nationalist hubby joining her?

  • BK says:

Already getting tired of her Tosca. This venture into heavier rep just sounds laborious and woofy with an uneven top.

  • Nik says:

After her Aida they probably don’t want another makeup controversy.

  • Darrell says:

Opera in concert is boring as hell. At least there is Netrebko who can save the thing, but the opera in concert version should be eradicated.

  • M McAlpine says:

I wish singers wouldn’t overload their voices like this. She is never a Turandot. Anna, stick to lighter roles.
