Concert agents talk to US Congress about relief
mainOffiical statement:
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s Chief of Staff and Legal Counsel met in a conference call on Tuesday, August 4th with prominent musicians of Kentucky and industry executives to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the U.S. Music Industry.
The call with the Senator’s senior staff was coordinated by the Performing Arts Managers and Agents Coalition (PAMAC) and took place with Conductor and Music Director of the Louisville Orchestra Teddy Abrams, Jim James of My Morning Jacket, Andrew McInnes of TMWRK Management representing country singer Sturgill Simpson and NIVA Kentucky Leader Billy Hardison of Louisville-based club Headliners Music Hall – all constituents of Senator McConnell’s home state of Kentucky – plus PAMAC Founder Charlotte Lee (pictured), PAMAC Co-leader Cindy Liu, PAMAC Member and Senior Executive Agent Jonathan Levine of Paradigm Agency, and NITO members Eric Mayers and Jason Colton of Red Light Management.
What, pray tell, was the senator’s response? I’m quivering with anticipation.
What is the difference between this PAMAC and the already well established NAPAMA, the North American Performing Arts Managers and Agents? Why do we need two such organizations?
Is NAPAMA doing advocacy work?
Don’t expect anything good from Mitch McConnell or his minions.
McConnell has nearly wrecked the legal constitutional workings of the US government, working closely with Trump and Barr to do so.
They are all traitors, and beneath contempt.
I was surprised to read this article and be reminded that Moscow Mitch actually does have another job, at least on paper, besides being Trump’s lackey and principal enabler.
Too bad you’re poor Greg.
The financial pain is real for the arts.
Note: Mitch McConnell (“Moscow Mitch)is a senator from Kentucky and engaged in a fierce struggle for reelection. Note he’s meeting with people from Kentucky; this is just part of his reelection campaign, little more.
Why not simply appeal to Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer?
They are of course white, extremely well connected and RICH.
But not as rich as Moscow Mitch with millions in offshore accounts and a wife whose family owns a Chinese shipping line.
There’s always the Obamas.
How about the Clintons, Cuomo, DeBlasio supporting their own???
How much have they committed to both already and for the future as opposed to the Republicans? BIG $$$ I’ll bet!!
I agree with Greg Bottini. I want to see McConnell gone, along with the former television hucksters, amateur physicians, secretive tax filers and temporary president who lost the popular vote by three million I only the party now in opposition had stronger candidates to offer with better reeason, but they are preferable to anything now resident in the executive mansion. First, throw out the liars. Then find someone else.
