Shut up and play!!
Sue is on a scheme whereby people who are first up on this site with a bit of anti-gay bile go into a draw to win a weekend at the White House.
He doesn’t play, Sue.
🙂
Not with her, anyhow.
“Sue Sonata Form” is the longest surviving pseudonym on this site that has not been kicked out by NL for being stridently homophobic and racist.
Lovely man….
How wonderful that we’ve reached the point wherein Yannick may say this. Tchaikovsky, Copeland, Bernstein, Horowitz, Richter Melchoir, Mitropoulos, Cliburn, Barber, Diamond, Poulenc,Szymanowski, Blitzstein, Hahn, ad infinitum, would’ve loved to have been able to do the same.
How wonderful it will be when it is no longer necessary to say such things. Then the subject will no longer feature as one, and no longer be talked about, for entirely opposite reasons.
Now what does this have to do with Classical music?
Nothing. That is why celebrities like to join-in.
One of the most over-rated conductors going!
Go, Yannick, GOOOOOO!!!
A wonderful message from someone who seems to be geuinely liked by those that work with him. (I’m not sure, Sue, that the same would be said for you.) Niceness and decency matter.
(BTW…I really enjoyed Dialogues des Carmelites at the Met this past spring.)
In solidarity!
As a happily married (nearly 40 years) heterosexual, I celebrate your pride right along with you, Yannick.
You are who you are, and as a human being with a brain and a heart, you are content and happy just being yourself.
This is what life is about. If only everyone were really comfortable in their own skins, as you are, the world would be a much less stressful place.
Pride!
The maestro has also considered religion important. He should note how easy it it is to go astray. Our age is not exactly an exception.
Fil. 3:
“18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.”
how has he considered religion “important?”
Religious quotes often make sure that many paths will be leading to inconvenience.
According to a Catholic Bibilical Quarterly issue of 1950, an agraphon in a Greek manuscript found in Morocco has Jesus warning his disciples: ‘In the furnace of fire there will be moaning and gnashing of teeth.’ One of the disciples asks: ‘But Lord, what if we have lost our teeth?’ To which the Lord answers: ‘Teeth will be provided.’
Happy Canada Day maestro.
